In bloom

The flowers in our yard were just beautiful today. Our first poppy opened yesterday(orange flower), I am still suprised at how large the blooms are. The pink peonies are in a flower bed out front. Right now only a few are open, but it is loaded with blossoms. I didn't get a full picture of the rose bush, it is gigantic! I try to enjoy it as much as I can since the flowers only last a couple of weeks. I am always impressed by the beauty in nature.

The missing tooth

Ben finally lost his front tooth yesterday. That thing was wiggly forever. We kept trying to pull it out, but he would never let us. He set his tooth out last night for the Tooth Fairy....she actually remembered this time!

The first game

Ben has started Coach-pitch ball this year. He is doing great and enjoying every minute of it. Yesterday was their first game, and he hit the ball to the outfield each at-bat. We were so proud of him.

Spring in our backyard

It was so beautiful today. Our lilac bushes are in full bloom and smell heavenly. The bees and butterflies were out in full force and busy as ever. I just had to share how lovely it was.

On to 3rd grade!

Ben finally had his last day of school. There was an awards assembly, games, and a bbq. He got quite a few awards this year; one for being on student council, one for excelling at gym, one for getting A's in math all year, another for reading all the "buckaroo" books(about 20), and also one for his reading points. We are so proud of him. He is excited to move on to 3rd grade and is happy he got the teacher he wanted!

6th Anniversary

Yesterday we celebrated our 6th anniversary. We borrowed our friends horses and went for a morning ride in the Peaks. The weather was beautiful. I didn't get too many pictures because I was on a young horse and she was pretty fresh. She wasn't too keen on standing still. We saw a herd of antelope, a large hawk, and even heard a rattlesnake. The horses didn't like that at all so we just kept moving. I couldn't think of a better way to spend the morning.
