Fair....the end!

Since we were so busy with the animals during the fair, we decided to do the rides on the last day. This was smart because it was not busy at all! Most of the time our kids were the only ones on the rides. The favorite of the day was the bumper cars. They went on them many times. Also, the bungee jump thing. Delaney had asked ALL week (many, many, many times) if she could jump on it. Daddy decided that they could. Ben went first and had a blast. He kept trying to do a flip and managed it 2 times. Delaney jumped like crazy but would not flip at all. I don't have pictures of her jumping as high as Ben did, I thought I was going to have a heart attack! She jumped just as high and had a blast. After the rides there was a free concert that we had been waiting months for. We got to see Johnny Lee. He is a country artist best known for his songs from the movie Urban Cowboy. He was great. The day was perfect until it started to downpour! It was raining so hard and then the wind picked up. They had to end the concert early. Gotta love Wyoming weather, so unpredictable!

Fair...Part 2

Well, we are finally done with our crazy week of Fair. The kids both did such great jobs showing and taking care of the sheep. Ben won 3rd place in his showmanship class of 9 kids. The next class he did was a feeder class. This was for the sheep that did not make weight. It is judged on how the animal is put together. He got 2nd out of 5. The next day he showed in his market class. It is judged the same as the feeder class. He was 6th out of 10. Delaney also got to show this day. She was in the Pee wee lead class. There were over 20 kids walking sheep in the ring. Some were crying and quite a few sheep got away. She did great and she kept hold of her sheep. They all lined up and got ribbons! The kids will even get checks in the mail soon. On Saturday we had to get ready for the auction. It was crazy! When it was finally Ben's turn, he went in the auction ring with a big smile on his face and walked his lamb around the ring. Albertsons in Cody bought it for $5 a pound! He is pretty excited to be making almost $600!!! Even though we are all tired still and have a lot of things to catch up on at home, we had a great time. The kids are already talking about getting sheep again next year.

Fair, Part 1

Today is the first day we will be going to the Fair. We have to prepare the pen for Ben's sheep, then we will be taking them down tonight. Delaney will be in the pig wrestling competition tonight. We are all excited to see how her team does. They are the "Piggy Princesses". Tomorrow morning is weigh-ins for the market animals. Keep your fingers crossed we make weight at 110lbs. Any way, I will post when I can and will have lots of photos. Look for more to come soon!

The Davies come to WY

Every July, Jenn and her family come out for Ben's birthday. We always have so much fun. Now that Tori is a little bigger, she was playing non-stop with my kids. Connor is cute as a button at 4 months now. Time sure flies! We spent our time hanging out, eating bbq, shooting the cannon, watching the parade, and having fireworks. It would be nice if we lived closer, but the time we do have together is always special.

Little Birthday Boy

O.k., he's not so little anymore. My baby boy is 9 years old today. I just can't believe it. Seems like yesterday that he was just a tiny baby snuggled in my arms for a nap. But now he is growing up into a fine young man. He is so caring and thoughtful of others, it makes me proud. He is also the biggest joker I have ever met! He never misses an opprotunity to tell a joke or hide and scare the he** out of me and then laugh until he has tears in his eyes! Ben is becoming just like his dad fixing things and currious to learn how things work. I do miss the little boy he was but am enjoying every minute of the young man he is growing up to be.

Clipping the sheep

Well, today was the big day. We started by giving the sheep a bath. They really didn't like it too much. After they were mostly dry, we got busy. I put the clippers together and went to work. It was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I have body clipped horses before, but they are not as low to the ground as the sheep! They were not very happy about the whole situation, but they did pretty good. I think they turned out pretty nice. Here are just a couple of pictures from the day.

The new do

After asking and asking, Delaney finally got the haircut she wanted. Daddy said it was alright so we went to the salon. She had a great time. She even had enough hair to donate to Locks of Love!

Silly kids

Here is a picture with me and both of the kids, finally. Laney and I were goofing around because we bought new lipgloss so we took a couple of pics. They are silly, but I hope you like them!
